Hilaria Baldwin Supports Alec at ‘Rust’ Trial in New Mexico with Child

Alec Baldwin’s criminal trial is in progress in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The 66-year-old actor attended the proceedings accompanied by his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, and their 1-year-old daughter, Ilaria.

Alec and Hilaria, who tied the knot in 2012 and have seven children together, arrived separately in SUVs on Tuesday morning at the First Judicial District Courthouse. Photographers captured Alec looking sharp in a grey suit, white dress shirt, and navy blue tie, while Hilaria chose a brown jacket over matching slacks.

Unexpectedly, Hilaria brought their youngest child along. A video showed Alec asking Hilaria, “Can I help you?” as she took the stroller out of the SUV. He also asked his daughter, “Want to come to daddy?” before Hilaria handed the baby to a caretaker.

Alec then proceeded inside the courthouse for the second day of his involuntary manslaughter trial concerning the fatal shooting of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of his film in October 2021. As he entered, a reporter inquired, “How are you feeling this morning?” Alec glanced at the reporter but did not respond.

Hilaria and Ilaria’s presence wasn’t his sole familial support. His brother, Stephen Baldwin, was spotted in a hallway outside the courtroom, wearing a navy blue suit, a button-down shirt, and a tie, with his hair slicked back.

After motions were sorted out, the trial began with jury selection on Tuesday, although it was delayed due to technical difficulties.

Alec was indicted on involuntary manslaughter charges by a grand jury for the fatal shooting of the 42-year-old Hutchins. He pled not guilty. If convicted, Alec faces up to 18 months in prison.

Court documents obtained on June 18 revealed that special prosecutors Kari T. Morrissey and Erlinda O. Johnson accused Alec of engaging in “horseplay” with a gun during training. They also portrayed his behavior during filming as “erratic and aggressive.”

The prosecutors further alleged that Alec fired a blank round at a crew member while using that person to establish a line of sight. They claimed that Alec insisted on not adhering to industry safety standards when filming resumed after the fatal incident.

Alec’s attempt to have the case dismissed was unsuccessful. His trial commenced shortly after Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the film’s armorer, was sentenced to 18 months in prison after being found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

Alec has repeatedly maintained that he did not pull the trigger on the prop gun that killed Hutchins.
