Hilarious ‘Olympics’ Sports Fails Are Taking Over TikTok

The 2024 Paris Olympics have become a major topic online, with a hilarious TikTok trend taking center stage.

This trend features sports fails with the amusing caption “Unfortunately I wasn’t selected for the 2024 Paris Olympics,” leading to the creation of over 200,000 videos.

Many of these videos have gone viral, amassing millions of views.

The comedic clips span a variety of sports, including gymnastics, volleyball, track, and diving.

“Maybe next year!” joked one person in the caption of a video showing their embarrassing back flop during a diving attempt.

Another user humorously commented, “Unfortunately you won’t be seeing me at the Olympics now or ever,” on a video of a young girl attempting a volleyball serve, swinging her arm awkwardly for an extended period instead of hitting the ball.

“I opened the comments twice n u were still going,” one person remarked, accompanied by a crying emoji that highlighted their amusement.

In another clip, a girl attempted an uneven bars routine but ended up hitting both bars on her way down, leading a commenter to quip, “The pinball dismount, 10/10.”

A different video showed a girl promising, “Catch me in 2028,” after a beam routine where she repeatedly fell off the apparatus following a series of steps and kicks.

“Friend you was playing on that beam,” another person noted.

The trend’s popularity even caught the attention of Olympic gymnastics star Suni Lee. Despite being a gold medalist and a two-time Olympian, Lee joined in the fun.

She referenced her balance beam final fall from Monday (Aug. 5), modifying the trending caption to say, “Unfortunately I was selected for the Olympics,” with a red heart emoji.

Viewers overwhelmingly agreed that Lee “won” the trend with her humorous post.
