Hints Dropped by Liam and Noel Gallagher About Oasis Reunion

After 15 years, it appears that Oasis may finally be on the verge of reuniting.

The iconic Britpop band, led by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, have been hinting at a dramatic comeback. Fans are anticipating a significant announcement, expected to drop at 8am on Tuesday (27 August).

Oasis, known globally for hits like “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” disbanded in 2009 following a backstage altercation at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris.

Since the split, Liam and Noel have pursued individual music careers. Liam fronted the indie band Beady Eye, while Noel performed with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

With the buzz around a potential reunion now at a fever pitch, let’s delve into the clues dropped by the band members leading up to the highly anticipated announcement.

On Sunday (25 August), both Gallagher brothers posted a brief clip on their Instagram accounts. The video showed an image reminiscent of the Oasis logo, and the date “27.08.24” morphing into “8am.” This image was also shared on the official Oasis account.

At Reading Festival 2024, Liam dropped several hints about a possible reunion. During his performance of “Half The World Away,” he dedicated the song to his brother Noel. Later, he dedicated the Oasis classic “Cigarettes & Alcohol” to those who “hate” Oasis.

A report in The Times recently suggested that the band is planning a series of performances at London’s Wembley Stadium and Manchester’s Heaton Park, with a possible headlining spot at Glastonbury. Responding to the article, a fan described Heaton Park as a “terrible venue for concerts,” to which Liam replied, “See you down the front.” When another fan asked when the reunion would be announced, Liam joked, “Next Friday.”

In a separate tweet, Liam cryptically wrote, “I never did like that word FORMER.”

Liam has previously expressed a desire for the band to get back together, with Noel’s reluctance being the main obstacle. During a performance in Cardiff this year, Liam dedicated “Half The World Away” to his “little brother,” noting that Noel is “still playing hard to get.”

Earlier this month, Liam’s son, Gene Gallagher, who is also a musician, mentioned in an interview that he believes his father is keen on reforming the band. “I get the feeling my dad wants it, too. Let’s hope it happens. It’s easier to speak about after a couple of pints,” Gene said.

At a Liam Gallagher concert in June, a fan noticed a “reserved for Noel Gallagher” seat in a hospitality box. However, Noel did not attend the gig.
