House of the Dragon S2 Finale Promo: Episode 8 – Reckoning

Next week on House of the Dragon season 2 episode 8, viewers are in for a unique experience with the epic, extended finale.

Though HBO has kept many details under wraps, we do know a monumental battle is on the horizon, with virtually everyone preparing for it. At the promo’s outset, Criston Cole appears aware of an impending reckoning, one that might even be a suicide mission. With stakes at their highest, characters seem poised to meet their fate.

For once since the series began, Team Black seems to hold a slight edge, thanks to their superior number of dragons. This advantage could help compensate for their weaker army and allow them to cope with the earlier loss of Rhaenys this season.

As for the Greens, it’s hinted in the promo that Helaena, despite being ill-prepared, might be thrust into battle by her own brother. Meanwhile, Alicent warns her son that his decisions will lead to death. Could she be on the verge of rebelling against the existing power structure? Her growing frustration this season certainly suggests the possibility.
