How to Stream ‘Pachinko’ Season 2 Online

Min Jee Lee’s New York Times best-selling novel makes a comeback on the small screen. Pachinko season two premieres on August 23 on Apple TV+ and continues chronicling the life of a Korean immigrant family spanning four generations, amid war, occupation, and colonialism. The latest season unfolds during World War II, with scenes also set in Tokyo in 1989.

This narrative stretches from 1910 to 1989 across Korea, Japan, and the U.S. The series features Oscar-winning actress Yuh-Jung Youn as Sunja, who is depicted at various stages of her life by Yu-na Jeon and Minha Kim. Starting in a poverty-stricken fishing village outside Busan, Sunja’s life takes a turn when she meets a Japanese fish broker, Lee Minho, leading her to start a new life in Osaka.

Broadway actor Jin Ha portrays Sunja’s grandson, Solomon, a finance executive in New York. Solomon heads back to Japan aiming to broker a land deal between a hotel and a resilient Korean landowner. During this process, he reconnects with his grandmother Sunja and his father Baek Mozasu, portrayed by Soji Arai, who finds wealth through Pachinko, a Japanese arcade game resembling pinball. Pachinko also features Emmy-nominated actress Anna Sawai, Jimmi Simpson, Mari Yamamoto, Choi Joon-Young, Steve Sang-Hyun Noh, and Kaho Minami.

Pachinko streams exclusively on Apple TV+. The first episode of season two launches on Friday, August 23, with the season comprising eight episodes released weekly. The finale is set to air on October 11.

Apple TV+ subscription is necessary to view Pachinko, priced at $9.99 per month or $99 annually. The annual subscription offers a cost-saving option.
