Hulk Hogan’s Candid Reaction to Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s Movie

WWE legend Hulk Hogan is expressing displeasure about Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s upcoming movie, which centers around a challenging period in Hogan’s life.

TMZ reveals that Hogan is ready to take legal action if Affleck and Damon “cross the line.” The duo, under their Artists Equity banner, is producing a film about Hogan’s lawsuit against Gawker.

The 2013 lawsuit concluded in 2016 with a verdict in Hogan’s favor. Hogan had sued Gawker for invasion of privacy after they released an inappropriate video of him with a friend’s wife. Hogan ended up winning a $140 million verdict, which catalyzed the downfall of Gawker.

Sources close to Hogan stated that he has “no involvement whatsoever” in the movie titled “Killing Gawker.” While Hogan appears indifferent about the film, these sources highlighted that “if the movie treads into territory that a jury already found was protected by his right to privacy, Hulk will not hesitate to pursue legal options.”

Additionally, Hogan is “in a really good place in his life.” He has reportedly married a new wife, become more spiritual, and is embarking on a new business venture with his beer. He’s also been involved in charitable activities in Tampa, Florida, supporting a local homeless shelter.

“Killing Gawker” is set to be directed by Gus Van Sant, known for his past collaboration with Affleck and Damon on “Good Will Hunting.” Van Sant directed the Oscar-winning film, which was co-written by Affleck and Damon, and starred them as well. That film received nine Oscar nominations, winning Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Robin Williams.

PWInsider initially reported on the “Killing Gawker” movie. According to them, Affleck and Damon are producing the film under their Artists Equity banner. They are also reportedly considering taking on the lead roles, with Affleck possibly playing Hogan and Damon potentially portraying Peter Thiel.

The script for “Killing Gawker” is already in place and was written by Charles Randolph, known for his work on “The Big Short.” It is based on the book “Conspiracy: Peter Thiel, Hulk Hogan, Gawker, and the Anatomy of Intrigue.”

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have been collaborating on films for several decades. They first appeared together in movies such as “Field of Dreams,” “School Ties,” “Glory Daze,” and “Chasing Amy” before working on “Good Will Hunting.”

Following their work on “Good Will Hunting,” both appeared in films like “Dogma,” “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,” “The Third Wheel,” “Jersey Girl,” “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot,” and “The Last Duel.”

In 2023, Affleck directed the film “Air,” which chronicles the launch of Nike’s Air Jordan brand. Damon played the role of Sonny Vaccaro, while Affleck portrayed Nike founder Phil Knight. “Air” was the first project from Affleck and Damon’s production company, Artists Equity.

Their other projects include “Kiss the Future,” a documentary about U2’s iconic Sarajevo concert in 1997, and “The Greatest Love Story Never Told.”
