As new chapters of the Hunter x Hunter manga are set to be released, there has been no confirmation of new anime adaptations in the immediate future. The latest series, produced by Studio Madhouse in 2011, covered several arcs but left some battles and storylines untold. Given the franchise’s immense popularity, a return of the anime seems highly likely at some point.

For those looking to dive into the world of Hunter x Hunter, the manga is available on the Shonen Jump app and Manga Plus. The anime adaptation by Madhouse from 2011 can be streamed on Crunchyroll and Hulu. Here’s a brief synopsis for those unfamiliar with the story:

“Gon might be a country boy, but he has high aspirations. Despite his Aunt Mito’s protests, Gon decides to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a legendary Hunter. The Hunter hopefuls begin their journey by storm-tossed ship, where Gon meets Leorio and Kurapika, the only other applicants who aren’t devastated by bouts of seasickness. Having survived the terrors of the high seas, Gon and his companions now have to prove their worth in a variety of tests in order to find the elusive Exam Hall. And once they get there, will they ever leave alive…?”
