Gary Neville and Ian Wright led wild celebrations after Jude Bellingham rescued England against Slovakia in a dramatic Euro 2024 last-16 showdown.

The ITV Sport pundits were seen embracing each other in behind-the-scenes footage, moments after the 95th-minute wonder goal by Bellingham forced the match into extra-time.

Their colleague Roy Keane quickly turned away, while Wright and Neville were screaming in pure delight.

England eventually triumphed in the last-16 tie with Harry Kane scoring the decisive winner. The victory means England will now face Switzerland in the quarter-finals next Saturday.

Manager Gareth Southgate revealed he never doubted his team’s run would end in the last 16.

“I had a funny feeling the game wasn’t dead and I know that sounds ridiculous. We were pushing and probing,” Southgate told BBC Radio 5 Live. “Ultimately, it is the one we have thrown in the box that got us the goal.”

Southgate added that Bellingham’s sensational goal came amid concerns about his stamina to finish the game.

“With 15 minutes to go you wonder if he is out on his feet,” Southgate continued. “Him and Harry Kane produce those moments and that is why you don’t make changes when people are clamoring for more changes. We had enough attacking players on the pitch.”

Jude Bellingham himself emphasized the collective effort that led to the victory.

“We won this game together, not me, not Harry, the sacrifices we make for the team, that’s the energy,” Bellingham stated.

When asked who writes his scripts for these defining moments, the Real Madrid midfielder confidently responded, “I do.”
