Ice Spice Responds Perfectly to Crowd Booing Taylor Swift’s ‘Karma’ at Rolling Loud

Ice Spice isn’t losing her cool when faced with criticism over her friendship with Taylor Swift. Instead, she’s responding with a bit of playful defiance.

The 24-year-old rapper took the stage at the Rolling Loud Europe Festival in Austria on Sunday. During her performance, the crowd began to boo when the speakers played “Karma,” a track featuring Swift and Ice Spice. The reaction seemed particularly strong from the men in the audience.

Rather than getting upset, Ice Spice responded by blowing exaggerated kisses to the crowd, handling the situation with grace and a touch of humor. Her reaction didn’t go unnoticed by fans, who quickly took to social media to defend her and mock the naysayers.

One fan tweeted, “Imagine going to an Ice Spice set then booing Taylor Swift when their collab plays. What losers.” Another said, “An absolute queen!! We will be streaming the new album for sure.” Another added, “Men used to go to war and now they show up to Ice Spice sets and hate on a woman 1,000,000 times out of their league.”

Ice Spice and Taylor Swift teamed up for the remix of “Karma” last year. Swift previously discussed how their collaboration came about. In an audio snippet shared by Spotify, Swift explained, “Collaborating with Ice Spice on ‘Karma’ was one of the most natural things.” She recounted how Ice Spice’s team reached out with the opportunity, noting that Ice had been a fan of Swift since childhood. Swift, already a fan of Ice Spice’s music, quickly jumped at the chance to work together.

Swift elaborated, “I had been listening to her nonstop, like, getting ready for my [Eras] tour. I was just listening to Ice Spice constantly. So I immediately got her number and said, ‘Hey, would you wanna do your version of ‘Karma’? Do you relate to this?’ So she jumped in headfirst.”

Ice Spice recently spoke about her upcoming projects during an interview on the red carpet at the 2024 BET Awards. She humorously remarked, “I’m giving birth July 26! Everybody tune in.” While she hinted at a significant collaboration earlier this year, she remained tight-lipped about who it involved, revealing only that there would be multiple collaborations on her new album.

“There’s a couple,” she teased. “That’s all I can say.”

In the meantime, Ice Spice is getting ready to embark on her Y2K World Tour. When asked about the possibility of having special guests on stage, including Taylor Swift or her “Barbie World” and “Princess Diana” collaborator Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice left the door open. “They’re busy ladies right now on sold-out tours,” she said, adding, “They’re always welcome.”

Despite the boos and criticism, Ice Spice’s handling of the situation and her strong connection with Swift show her resilience and poise. Fans eagerly await her new album and the chance to see her perform live on her upcoming tour.
