Ice T’s Daughter Shines on ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Set

Ice T’s daughter, Chanel, has effortlessly stolen the spotlight from her famous father. Recently, Coco Austin, Ice T’s wife, shared a heartwarming photo of their eight-year-old daughter, Chanel, on the set of Law & Order: SVU. Chanel looked adorable as she took over an important spot on the show. The captured moments are too cute to miss!

Last Friday, August 2, Coco Austin took to Instagram to share a delightful clip of Chanel’s visit to the set of Law & Order: SVU. In the video, Chanel is seen sitting comfortably behind the camera in a director’s chair and even sitting at the desk of one of the show’s main stars, Mariska Hargitay.

“Oh no @babychanelnicole is taking over @nbclawandorder!!” Coco excitedly wrote in the caption. “Watch out directors, camera men, and even Olivia Benson’s spot! Don’t sleep on this chick! She does it all!”

Coco, who was narrating the video, humorously warned her husband to be cautious if he wishes to keep his job. “Behind the scenes, Law & Order, someone’s trying to take daddy’s job,” she said in the clip.

The video also showcased the iconic nameplate on the desk that usually reads “Capt. Olivia Benson.” On this special visit, it was temporarily replaced with a handwritten nameplate that read “Capt. CHANEL.”

Mariska Hargitay, the star of Law & Order: SVU, was excited to join the fun. In the comments, she playfully wrote, “Thank God, somebody’s holding down the fort!!!”

Law & Order: SVU, now in its 25th season, initially premiered in 1999 and was the first spinoff in the Law & Order franchise. Ice T, who turned 66 this year, joined the cast in the second season and has remained a central character ever since.

Ice T and Coco Austin tied the knot in 2002 and welcomed their daughter, Chanel, in 2015. Ice T, who stars in Law & Order: SVU, has often shared his experiences of being a protective father.

“I already showed her the little plots I made in our backyard for her boyfriends who make her cry,” Ice T humorously told Us Weekly. “She’s like, ‘No, no. Nah, daddy, you can’t do that.’ I said, ‘What about the girl that likes the same boy you like?’ [Chanel said], ‘Oh, she can get it.’ That’s my daughter.”

In addition to Chanel, Ice T has two adult children from previous relationships – LaTesha Marrow, 48, and Tracy Marrow, 32. Reflecting on his experience with raising his children, Ice T has opened up about the differences he observed.

“I think the difference with Chanel and my other kids is I’m very conscious of this baby,” he said in a podcast in 2023. “I had my [first] daughter when I was in high school. I was ripping and running, so it was present over presence.”

He continued, “I wasn’t there. My son … happened right when I was becoming Ice-T. You know, I’d never been famous before, this was a whole new thing, so I’m distracted by that [at the time]. Chanel, I’m comfortable. I’m in a cruise pattern.”
