I’d Knock You Out

Steve Harvey has seemingly taken aim at Katt Williams months after the comic insulted him and several other stand-ups on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast.

In a crowd-recorded clip from Atlanta’s Invest Fest on Aug. 24, Harvey, 67, is seen telling the crowd not to entertain “haters,” noting that they often aren’t doing better than the person they’re critiquing.

“You’ll never have a hater that’s doing better than you, always know that,” Harvey stressed to the audience. “Don’t get off the wall to address some petty-a** boy who ain’t got sh*t going for himself, stop your climb on up the wall so you can come down here and talk to his little punk a**. Don’t do that, man! I stay away from it. Do I want to [confront them]? Yes, because I’m a human being. And I’m hood. I used to be a fighter, and I still got hands. They slow, but if you get up on me real close, I can still knock yo’ monkey a** out.”

The Family Feud host then added, “I just don’t have the quickness I had, but I can still turn my hip and shift that weight, and I’d knock yo’ short a** out. I’d shoot yo’ perm straight out yo’ head.”

Harvey also subtly addressed Williams back in January, giving his Family Feud audience the same advice he shared at Invest Fest.

“No, you ain’t gotta tell nobody nothing. All you got to do is be it. You don’t have to open your mouth,” he began before quoting Psalms 23:5. “‘He prepares a table in the presence of mine enemies’, he do it all the time. All my haters? I ain’t gotta say nothing to them. They got TV. They can cut they TV on seven days a week. All that hate? ‘Man, he on there.’”

During Williams’ record-breaking sit-down on Club Shay Shay, the Pimp Chronicles comic took several of his peers to task, including Cedric The Entertainer, Michael Blackson, Kevin Hart, Tiffany Haddish, and Harvey, whom he accused of stealing the concept of his 1990s sitcom The Steve Harvey Show from Mark Curry’s Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper.

“The same Steve that went to go watch Mark Curry do his whole sitcom and then stole everything Mark Curry had…Now Steve got a sitcom where he’s the principal and he wears a suit,” Williams told host Shannon Sharpe at the time before insulting Harvey’s skills as an actor.

“You couldn’t be a movie star…There are 30,000 new scripts in Hollywood every year. Not one of them asked for a country bumpkin Black dude that can’t talk good … and look like Mr. Potato Head. There ain’t none. You have to have range.”
