A well-known Britney Spears impersonator believes a lesser-known actress would be a better fit to portray the pop star in the upcoming biopic rather than a famous actress.
Allegra DuVal, who has made a name for herself by impersonating Britney at weddings, casinos, and on TV shows like FOX’s “I Can See Your Voice,” shared her thoughts on “The TMZ Podcast.” When asked who she would want to see playing Britney in the forthcoming film, Allegra didn’t hesitate to suggest casting an unknown actress.
Britney Spears, who has the final say on the casting, could benefit from this suggestion, according to Allegra. She argues that a famous actress might not capture the essence of Britney in a natural and convincing way.
Allegra offers herself as a potential option, pointing out her experience with Britney’s dances and her similar body type and physical traits.
The biopic, which is still in its early stages, has not reached out to Allegra yet. However, she expressed her readiness to take on the role or even serve as a body double if needed.
The movie adaptation of “The Woman in Me” is being directed by Jon M. Chu and produced by Marc Platt for Universal Pictures. Allegra’s perspective provides an interesting counterpoint to the suggestions made by Britney’s former assistant, Felicia Culotta, who expressed a preference for actress Emma Roberts.
