Inside Scarlett Johansson’s Blended Family: Meet Her Five Siblings

Scarlett’s older sister shares the Hollywood spotlight and has even graced the screen alongside her younger sibling. In 1996, both sisters appeared in Manny & Lo, with Scarlett taking the lead role and Vanessa appearing in the background.

Vanessa honed her acting skills at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and Carnegie Mellon. While she has landed minor roles in films over the years, her true talent shines through in voice acting, much like their brother Adrian.

Throughout her career, Vanessa has narrated over 60 audiobooks, earning accolades for her exceptional voice work. In a 2018 interview with FangirlNation, she shared her passion for voice acting: “I love creating characters, doing different accents, being moved by stories, and conveying that in my performance.”

She added, “It is a wonderful outlet for a creative person to use a lot of skills I’ve honed as an actor in another way.”

In 2016, Vanessa collaborated professionally with Scarlett when the younger Johansson read for Audible’s edition of ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’. Vanessa directed her sister in the project and cherished the experience. Speaking to People, she said, “We’re very close and, as you can imagine, have been playing around and doing funny voices since we were little, so it was a great project for the two of us because we’re so used to inventing together.”

Most recently, Vanessa marked her directorial debut with Screen Time, a short film released in 2020.
