InterTalent Signs ‘Gwyneth Goes Skiing’ Creators Awkward Productions (Exclusive)

InterTalent has signed the creators of “Gwyneth Goes Skiing,” Awkward Productions.

Awkward Productions, comprised of actors, writers, and producers Joseph Martin and Linus Karp, is behind the viral indie stage show “Gwyneth Goes Skiing.” This play is a comedic retelling of the lawsuit between actress Gwyneth Paltrow and ophthalmologist Terry Sanderson following a ski accident in Utah.

The trial gained widespread attention, generating numerous articles, memes, and commentary, especially about Paltrow’s courtroom attire dubbed “quiet luxury” and her famous parting line to Sanderson, “I wish you well,” after winning the case.

“I Wish You Well” is one of several original songs featured in “Gwyneth Goes Skiing.” In the show, Karp portrays Paltrow while Martin takes on the role of Sanderson. The play is interactive, inviting audience members on stage to play various roles, including Sanderson’s girlfriend.

Awkward Productions is also known for another stage show, “Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story,” inspired by Princess Diana, with Karp playing the iconic royal figure.

“Gwyneth Goes Skiing” and “Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story” are currently running in Edinburgh. “Gwyneth Goes Skiing” is set to tour the UK this fall before returning to Pleasance London for the Christmas season. It has already enjoyed two sold-out runs in London and a U.S. transfer.

“We are beyond excited to work with Awkward Productions, whose pioneering approach perfectly aligns with our vision of pushing boundaries in comedy and performance,” said Hannah Layton, company director and head of comedy at InterTalent.

Martin and Karp added, “Hannah and the team at InterTalent are legends. We’re SO thrilled to be working with them to continue our plans of queer world domination. Let’s go girls.”
