Intuit Stadium, new L.A. Clippers home, opens this month with Bruno Mars concert

The long-awaited Intuit Dome, new home of the Los Angeles Clippers in Inglewood, is gearing up for a grand opening featuring 14-time Grammy Award winner Bruno Mars later this month.

The concert, scheduled for August 15 and 16, will be Bruno Mars’ first performance in Los Angeles in six years. Tickets are currently on sale.

The stadium expressed excitement about Mars’ performance for the inaugural event. Halo Sports and Entertainment CEO Gillian Zucker said, “Bruno, who has a strong connection to Inglewood, will undoubtedly deliver an iconic performance that is worthy of this moment, and will leave a lasting impression on everyone who attends these two shows.”

The Clippers will play their upcoming season at this state-of-the-art arena, which promises “world-class amenities and a commitment to fan satisfaction,” according to Halo representatives.

They stated, “Intuit Dome is poised to set a new standard for music and sports venues. Fans will enjoy an intimate viewing experience with their seats hovering over the floor, bringing them closer to the show.”

The facility features an 80,000-square-foot outdoor plaza equipped with bars, restaurants, and a 5,000-square-foot retail store.

The Halo statement adds, “The Plaza’s LED screen, the largest outdoor 4K LED screen in Los Angeles, will serve as the backdrop for community events, artist activations, and watch parties—forever changing the pre-game and pre-show scene.”

Inside the stadium, there is the largest-ever double-sided halo display, covering nearly an entire acre with more than 233 million LED lights. The seating has been designed to maximize views of this massive display, created by Daktronics. “With room to engage and entertain fans in a completely different way, it won’t be just a giant video board,” the statement said.

Intuit Stadium will include more than 17,700 20-inch-wide seats and five full-size basketball courts, according to Halo. It also contains 86,000 square feet of training, medical, and player areas. The facility houses more than 120 restrooms and over 300 on-site electric vehicle charging stations.

Additionally, stadium representatives claim that Intuit Dome will generate $260 million in annual economic activity for the city. During its construction phase, 7,000 jobs were created, and 30% of all permanent jobs will be held by Inglewood residents.

Halo officials stated that $100 million had been dedicated to local causes and infrastructure, making it the largest community benefits package ever associated with an arena. The company has also installed more than 1,000 electric vehicle charging stations at Inglewood homes and public parking lots. Groundbreaking for the project took place in September 2021.
