Is Snoop Dogg Earning $500,000 Daily for Olympics Coverage?

Snoop Dogg is reportedly making substantial earnings for his role in covering the 2024 Paris Olympics for NBC.

Uncle Snoop has been a pivotal figure in NBC’s coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics, delivering engaging commentary and conducting interviews for the summer games. His commitment is allegedly securing him an impressive $500,000 per day, in addition to expenses. This information came to light on Sunday (Aug. 4) when Henry McNamara, a general partner at the investment firm Great Oaks Venture Capital, shared a tweet on X, formerly known as Twitter, about Snoop’s purported NBC earnings that is quickly gaining widespread attention.

“Sat next to an NBC exec at dinner, he said Snoop gets paid $500k a day plus expenses to be here promoting Olympics,” the tweet reads. “From Gin and Juice to a few million to be a celebrity at the Olympics – what a world.”

According to Front Office Sports, NBC is projected to generate $1.25 billion in advertising revenue from broadcasting the Olympic Games. At a rate of $500,000 per day, Snoop Dogg would potentially earn $8 million over 16 days of coverage. When you add an estimated $1 million for expenses, $9 million seems like a modest figure against NBC’s overall earnings from the event. The feasibility of this figure remains a topic of speculation.

The news outlet XXL has reached out to both NBC and Snoop Dogg’s team for an official comment.

Snoop Dogg first collaborated with NBC during the 2020 Olympics (which took place in the summer of 2021) on a show titled Olympic Highlights with Kevin Hart and Snoop Dogg. Earlier this year, he confirmed his return for NBC’s live coverage of the 2024 Games. So far, his segments have been highly engaging. Some standout moments include Snoop commencing the games by Crip walking with the Olympic torch, being humorously called out by gymnast Simone Biles’ mom, and even receiving a swimming lesson from Michael Phelps.
