IShowSpeed Responds to YouTube Ban

IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., has been banned on YouTube for allegedly violating Community Guidelines during a livestream.

The popular streamer boasts one of the platform’s largest channels, amassing over 27 million subscribers and continually growing. Recently, Speed streamed himself performing a daring stunt, jumping over two supercars, a Lamborghini and a McLaren, as they sped towards him one after the other.

This stunt seems to have led to a temporary ban from YouTube. Speed addressed the ban, saying, “Hey guys, if y’all are watching this right now, I’m banned on YouTube on my main channel. I cannot stream or do anything, guys. I just wanted to let y’all know. I love y’all.”

Slipz, Speed’s cameraman, posted a screenshot of the channel dashboard on X (formerly Twitter), which showed that the account had received a strike for violating Active Community Guidelines. Although Speed had earlier posted footage of him jumping over a Lamborghini, this particular video has since been removed from YouTube. It is understood that the violation relates to the most recent stunt.

According to a verified fan account on X, Speed’s ban is for two weeks, preventing him from going live or sharing updates during this period. The account also mentions that Speed is appealing the strike.

For now, Speed’s existing content remains accessible, but no new content can be uploaded until the ban is lifted. In 2023, Twitch lifted Speed’s permanent ban from its platform, sparking speculation among fans that he might consider returning to Twitch for his streaming activities.
