Jake Paul Vows War Against Mike Tyson

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is officially set to premiere on Netflix in November 2024, despite a recent health scare that caused the fight to be postponed. Jake Paul, sporting a 10-1 record with 7 KOs, is looking to add another legend to his list of conquered opponents. Meanwhile, Mike Tyson aims to further secure his legacy and capitalize on the lucrative deal. Although boxing legends like Oscar de la Hoya have expressed concerns over the age difference between the 26-year-old Paul and the 58-year-old Tyson, Paul promises fans an intense and hard-hitting bout.

During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Jake Paul, now known by his moniker El Gallo de Dorado, emphasized his serious approach to the upcoming fight in Dallas. “A pro fight means war and I don’t take it lightly. You can get seriously hurt or injured in there. So, if you’re not in there to go to war, then you should just get out,” Paul stated.

Jake Paul reassured TMZ that Tyson is ready for the November fight, despite the medical emergency that previously postponed their matchup from its original July date. Paul emphasized that there was no plan for a backup fighter. If Tyson were unable to fight, the event would be canceled. However, Paul is confident that won’t happen. “I don’t have concern. He’s doing great. He’s super healthy behind the scenes and feeling great,” Paul shared.

The YouTuber-turned-pro-boxer also expressed no worries about the significant age gap between himself and Tyson. Jake is determined to try knocking out Iron Mike, a feat that only five boxers have accomplished throughout Tyson’s illustrious 20-year career. Paul acknowledged the advantages that come with his youth and endurance. He revealed his strategy to wear Tyson down in the early rounds, hoping to take advantage once Tyson tires.

Mike Tyson, renowned for his incredible punching power and the ability to end fights early, earned the title “the baddest man on the planet” during his career. Still, concerns over this fight remain. Oscar de la Hoya has openly criticized the match as unnecessary for either boxer’s career legacy. According to de la Hoya, Jake Paul has a pattern of picking fights against non-boxers, former pros past their prime, or never-was fighters. In de la Hoya’s view, Paul has yet to face any accomplished boxers in their prime, which contrasts with Tyson’s history of challenging world-class opponents.

While de la Hoya respects Tyson for taking the financial opportunity, he also voiced concerns about the 58-year-old potentially getting hurt, particularly if the fight extends into the later rounds. De la Hoya suggested that Tyson’s best approach would be to rely on his monstrous power to knock Paul out early in the fight.

The anticipation continues to build as fans eagerly await Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson on November 15, streaming live on Netflix.
