Jamie Foxx Reveals 2023 Medical Mystery: “Bad Headaches” and 20-Day Absence

In 2023, the world, especially the Black community, was gripped with concern as beloved actor and musician Jamie Foxx faced a mystery medical complication. Recently, Foxx has started to share more details about the incident, albeit sparingly.

Over the weekend, Foxx was seen outside a restaurant in Phoenix, Arizona, where he took a moment to talk with fans about the ordeal that had left him hospitalized.

According to Foxx, the troubling incident began with a severe headache, prompting him to ask a friend for an Advil. He then woke up 20 days later in a hospital with no memory of what had transpired.

“Look, April 11 last year, bad headache, asked my boy for an Advil. I was gone for 20 days,” Foxx said in a video. “I don’t remember anything. I’m in Atlanta, they told me… my sister and my daughter took me to the first doctor. They gave me a cortisone shot.”

Foxx continued to talk about the situation, although he refrained from disclosing the specifics of his condition on camera.

“The next doctor said, ‘There’s something going on up there,’” Foxx commented while gesturing towards his head. “I won’t say it on camera. But it was…”

Last April, as Foxx was in Atlanta filming his latest Netflix project, Back in Action, alongside Cameron Diaz, the news of his hospitalization broke.

Amid the flood of misinformation and conspiracy theories regarding Foxx’s health, his daughter Corinne took to social media to clarify the situation. She confirmed that her father had experienced a “medical emergency” but was already on the path to recovery.

“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” Corinne stated. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

Weeks later, PEOPLE reported that Foxx was “awake and alert” but continued to stay in the hospital under medical supervision.

In May, TMZ reported that Foxx’s daughters, Corinne and Anelise, along with her mother, Kristin Grannis, had been seen at a Chicago physical rehabilitation center known for specializing in stroke recovery and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation.

Despite the information shared, conspiracy theories about Foxx’s health persist, which is unfortunate.
