Jason Priestley Reflects on Mortality After Shannen Doherty’s Passing

The 54-year-old actor admitted that her passing made him reflect on his life and its inevitable end.

Despite Shannen being open about her battle with breast cancer on her Let’s Be Clear podcast, Jason revealed that her demise was a shock, similar to when their co-star Luke Perry passed away in 2019. He recalled posing with Shannen and Luke for a Rolling Stone cover in 1992, realizing their significant impact only then.

Jason fondly remembered Shannen as a tough and tenacious person. He cherished the last few years of their friendship, feeling fortunate to have spent that time with her, leaving nothing uncertain. He admired her desire to help others even as she fought her own battles.

However, their friendship had its ups and downs. They reconciled during an episode of Shannen’s podcast earlier this year. The late actress mentioned how personal issues, including her tumultuous marriage to Ashley Hamilton, affected her work and her relationships with her castmates.
