Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are enjoying an extravagant summer sailing the Mediterranean on Bezos’ $485 million yacht, Koru. The couple, embracing a journey reminiscent of Hollywood classics, has traversed Greece, Italy, and Spain. Recently, they took refuge on the secluded island of Menorca in the Balearics to escape a low-pressure storm called Dana.

Bezos, 60, and Sánchez, 54, are traveling with a luxurious entourage on their 417-ft yacht. Accompanying them is their support yacht, Abeona, which carries their water toys and an A-list guest list. This summer’s high-profile guests include Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Leonardo DiCaprio, and his Italian supermodel girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti.

A longtime entertainment executive observed that Bezos and Sánchez are currently the “flavor of the month” in the Mediterranean yachting scene, once dominated by Russian oligarchs. Notwithstanding some critics who perceive Sánchez as “tacky,” many appreciate her warm personality and the evident adoration between her and Bezos.

The Koru yacht, though not the longest among billionaire vessels, still prompts comparisons and envy in yacht-owning circles. Standing at more than 100 feet longer than Barry Diller’s yacht and slightly shorter than David Geffen’s 453-ft vessel, it symbolizes Bezos’ standing in the world of luxury.

During a romantic visit to Rome, Bezos and Sánchez channeled their inner Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. The couple shared a passionate kiss in front of the famed Trevi Fountain and participated in the tradition of tossing coins into the water, an act that left onlookers wondering about their wishes.

Clad in a fitted golf shirt, navy pants, and boating shoes, Bezos looked ever the elegant billionaire. Sánchez, in a striking red halter minidress and peep-toe heels, was a perfect match as they toured the cobblestone streets, ending their evening at Pierluigi for a dinner of white wine, salad, and bread.

The high-profile duo took a detour from their yacht journey to visit Pope Francis at the Vatican. Sánchez later reflected on social media about the Pope’s advice “not to take life too seriously,” a simple yet profound reminder to cherish light-heartedness.

The luxurious voyages began in June in Greece. Joining them were Bezos’ 19-year-old son, Preston, and their friend Kim Kardashian, who has become a regular fixture in their adventures. Kardashian and an unidentified blonde companion were seen jet-skiing and taking selfies, enjoying the company of the power couple.

Kardashian has been close to Bezos and Sánchez, evident from multiple sightings together over the past few years, including a double date in 2022 and attending a Beyoncé concert in 2023. Recently, the trio dined together in New York City, joined by Nicky Hilton.

The group enjoyed a lunch at a high-end beach resort before returning to Koru. This marks a continuation of last year’s Mediterranean vacation, where the same group, including Usher, explored Dubrovnik, Croatia.

DiCaprio and Bezos share a long-standing friendship, united by their commitment to environmental activism and climate change initiatives. Bezos’ yacht Koru is notable not just for its size—it ranks 32nd in the world’s largest yachts—but also for its eco-friendly sailing capabilities, thanks to its three massive 229-foot masts.

Koru can host 18 guests and requires a dedicated crew of 40 to manage its array of luxurious amenities. The cost to operate Koru annually stands at around $25 million. The yacht can reach speeds of 20 knots and is the largest private vessel capable of sail-only navigation.

Beyond their sea adventures, Bezos and Sánchez have recently transitioned from Seattle to Indian Creek Island in Miami. Bezos invested approximately $237 million in three mansions, making it a fitting terrestrial haven for the couple when they are not exploring the world’s oceans.
