Jelly Roll, Morgan Wallen Receive First-Time VMA Nominations

The nominations for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards have been released, and for the first time, Jelly Roll and Morgan Wallen are in the running for awards. These country stars join a roster of big names from various genres, including Taylor Swift, who leads the pack with ten nominations.

Jelly Roll and Wallen are not alone in representing country music this year. Their nomination places them alongside friends and fellow singers like Post Malone, Shaboozey, and Tyler Childers. These two country artists are among 29 first-time nominees for this year’s awards show.

Both Jelly Roll and Wallen have been nominated in the Best Collaboration category. Jelly Roll is featured on Jessie Murph’s “Wild Ones,” while Wallen appears on Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help.” Additionally, Jelly Roll receives a nod for his efforts on Joyner Lucas’ “Best for Me” in the Video for Good category.

This year’s nominations also spotlight other country artists. Shaboozey has been nominated for Best New Artist, and Tyler Childers’ song “In Your Love” is contending for the Video for Good award. Although Post Malone is primarily recognized for his work with Taylor Swift on her song “Fortnight,” earning eight of his nine nominations, he is also acknowledged in the country genre with “I Had Some Help” in the Best Collaboration category.

The MTV Video Music Awards are a fan-voted event, allowing enthusiasts to cast their votes online for their favorite artists and videos. The voting is currently open at mtv.com/vma.

The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast on MTV on Tuesday, September 10, at 8 PM ET.
