Jennie Garth, the 52-year-old actress, advocate, and designer, has teamed with QVC to launch the “Me” by Jennie Garth collection. The exclusive apparel collection debuts on QVC.com on July 29 at midnight EST, with Garth making an appearance, followed by monthly releases.

Garth stated that the “I Choose Me” brand concept originated from an iconic episode of “Beverly Hills 90210,” in which her character Kelly Taylor chose herself over two potential love interests. “I felt there was a gap in the needs of people my age, 40s and 50s, something that was easily accessible and effortless and an easy decision to make every morning,” Garth explained during a phone interview from her home in California.

Her goal with the collection is to empower women to wear what feels good, comfortable, and attractive without putting too much pressure on themselves. “That’s why I’m heading this ‘I Choose Me’ world with a podcast alongside my clothing brand,” she said.

Garth noted that the collection offers an opportunity to speak to both QVC’s audience and her fans who have grown up admiring her style. As a frequent traveler, she revealed that each monthly drop is inspired by different global locations, starting with Big Sur, Calif., known for its hazy, oceanic vibe, followed by St. Ynez Valley, Calif., which has a laid-back cowboy feel. Each release will feature 12 to 20 pieces, with Garth appearing on-air every four to six weeks to promote the line.

This is Garth’s first time designing a fashion collection. Initially hesitant, Garth realized she had been dressed by top costume designers throughout her acting career, which gave her insights into fashion. She collaborates closely with her 21-year-old daughter, Lola Facinelli, who is studying fashion design and contributes to the collection as her design partner.

Garth described the collection as reflecting various aspects of her personality, catering to different moods and styles women might experience daily. “Every day is a new opportunity to define or reinvent ourselves,” she remarked. Garth’s previous venture with QVC includes a seasonal home collection launched with her friend Tori Spelling in January 2023, called The BFF Collection by Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling.

Rachel Ungaro, general merchandise manager and vice president of fashion merchandising for QVC, highlighted Garth’s unique sense of style and her fit as a Q50 Ambassador. “She’s stylish and has a definite point of view for her brand,” Ungaro said, praising Garth’s passion and dedication.

The collection is characterized by “easy, effortless chic, everyday” clothing. The denim range, including jeans, jackets, jumpsuits, and skirts, is made using Repreve Our Ocean fabric, which consists of recycled polyester from plastic bottles. Each denim item ranges from 13 to 28 recycled bottles.

“One of the biggest parts for me is sustainability and trying to push that envelope with QVC,” Garth emphasized, expressing excitement about the eco-friendly initiative. The collection also features casual and dressy elements, with details like pleats, ruffles, and pin tucks, and Garth has signed the inside pockets of the denim items.

The initial collection includes knits, wovens, dresses, skirts, blouses, and denim, aimed at providing versatile pieces for different occasions. Sizes range from XXS to 3X, or 0 to 32, and prices vary from $49 to $129. Garth’s daughter gives the collection a fresh perspective, ensuring it appeals to various age groups.

Ungaro anticipates that the collection’s denim pieces will be popular, noting the inclusion of novelty stitches and yarns in sweaters, and versatile satin fabrics for both casual and dressy looks. “It can cover all different facets of your life,” she said.

Although Garth has been acting since age 15, she now prioritizes her apparel collection, having realized at 50 that she wanted to take on new challenges. “I decided to face my fears and take a risk on myself,” she shared, adding that the collection has been two years in the making. The line will be exclusive to QVC for two years, and Garth hopes to eventually expand it to include footwear and jewelry.

In addition to the apparel line, Garth has launched the “I Choose Me” podcast, focusing on positivity, sharing personal stories, and connecting with her audience. Regarding the recent death of her friend and “Beverly Hills 90210” costar Shannen Doherty, Garth expressed deep sorrow and remembrance of Doherty as an inspiration.

Garth’s involvement with QVC’s Age of Possibility platform will support its mission to champion women over 50. “Through QVC’s Age of Possibility platform, we are bringing fresh products and brands that celebrate this vibrant stage in their lives,” Ungaro said, adding that Garth will inspire women to embrace self-care and self-love.
