Jennifer Garner Showcases Kid-Friendly Spaces in L.A. House Tour

Jennifer Garner designed her Los Angeles home with her children in mind.

On Tuesday, Sept. 3, the Family Switch actress, 52, opened the doors to her cozy abode in a video tour filmed for Architectural Digest. During the tour, Garner revealed the rooms she specifically created for her kids Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, whom she shares with her ex-husband Ben Affleck.

The 13 Going on 30 star highlights her kids’ “slumber party room,” which is filled with built-in bunk beds, “where kids can cozy up all in one [room] together.

“This is like a dream come true for me,” the mom of three explains, “because I love to have kids over for a slumber party, but I’m also a stickler for sleep.”

She adds, “I love having a spot that is just where kids can be kids.”

Garner even kept all of her kids’ favorite toys from “when they were really little,” so that any young kids who come over can “feel welcome and excited.”

She continues, “And every now and then, the big kids will still pull out the old toys and play.”

In addition to the slumber party room, Garner shares that she transformed a little cabinet into her son’s Harry Potter-inspired office.

It’s “just a little spot for him to come in and dream,” she says of the tiny room. “Mostly he hides from me and eats candy, but I can’t blame him. I would do the same,” she jokes.

Earlier in the video, Garner admits that it’s “unlike me” to share something that’s so personal to her and her family, but she’s “happy” she did, as she’s proud of the work she put into it.

“I’m such a private person about my home and here I’ve just taken you through the entire house. And really, it’s for a couple of reasons,” she explains in the video. “I’ve never built anything all by myself before and I’m so proud of it. I am filled with gratitude every time I walk into my house. That I get to live here, that I’m so lucky to have my kids here.”
