Jennifer Lopez is looking forward after her split from Ben Affleck and marked her return to social media this weekend by sharing a collection of photos from her summer. The snapshot collection, titled “Oh, it was a summer,” notably showed that her family has expanded. In the post, an adorable kitten was featured in two of the images.
In one image, Lopez’s 16-year-old child, Emme, is seen doting on the tiny kitten. Another photo captures the new family pet peeking out from behind a Super Mario backpack on the floor of their home.
The new kitten didn’t go unnoticed by fans. One commented, “Omg mama has a kitty!!!” Another added, “That kitten is adorable!” A third exclaimed, “That kitten is the cutest!”
Jennifer and Ben filed for divorce on August 20, ending their marriage two years after they tied the knot. They had already been living separate lives for some time, with Lopez listing April 26 as the official date of separation. Despite this, they were seen together with Ben’s children between April and August, indicating that they have remained on good terms.
While Lopez seldom shares photos of her twins now that they are older, it is evident that she cherishes being a mother. She shares Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony, and in May, she shared never-before-seen family photos to celebrate Mother’s Day.
In her caption for the Mother’s Day post, Lopez wrote, “Thank you for giving me the privilege and gift to be your mother. The most beautiful blessing of my life. Every day I wake up and think what I can do to be a better mother to you.” She continued, “I ask God to instinctually let me be able to feel what you need in every moment so I can guide you and love you in every way that I can, so I can show you by example what it is to be a loving, caring, conscious, good human to yourself and others.”
Further, she revealed the name she calls Emme: “Lulu and Max, I am here FOREVER to support you, encourage you, to remind you of your greatness of your goodness and your limitless capability. You. Can. Do. Anything.”
Lopez continued, “You are brilliant and beautiful and worthy of love and all the beautiful things in life. If you ever learn one thing from me, let it be that. I love you beyond forever…And ever…And ever…”
Jennifer recently appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark, where she admitted that raising teenagers can be “challenging,” but expressed her unwavering love for them. “They are so brilliant and lovely and beautiful. I enjoy it,” she said.
She added, “I feel like we’re coming out of it – it is early, but they’re very emotionally mature.” Reflecting on tougher times, Lopez confessed, “There was a rough year or two and I was like ‘wow! This hurts!'”
