Jennifer Lopez Strives to Enjoy Summer Despite Divorce Rumors

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have remained silent amidst divorce rumors that have circulated since the beginning of summer. While neither has confirmed nor denied the speculation, their actions have fueled the gossip as they have been seen spending time apart and notably without their wedding rings. According to a source close to Lopez, she has been attempting to navigate through the past few months positively, despite the intense scrutiny on her relationship.

In May, Affleck reportedly moved out of the Beverly Hills home he shared with Lopez. This summer, the couple has maintained their distance, with Affleck staying in Los Angeles while Lopez traveled to Italy and the Hamptons. A source close to Lopez mentioned that this was not how she envisioned her summer, but she is endeavoring to make the most of the situation.

“Her summer isn’t exactly what she originally had planned, but she’s making the best of it,” the source shared with People. “She’s always grateful for family time.”

Lopez hosted a themed birthday party in the Hamptons inspired by Bridgerton, followed by a family lunch the next day. Notably, Affleck was absent from both events.

“She had a great weekend with family and friends,” the source added. “She loves entertaining and enjoyed her birthday bash. She was in a happy mood.”

Originally, Lopez planned to be on tour over the summer, but she canceled it.

Since both Lopez and Affleck have stayed mum about their marital issues, rumors continue to circulate regarding their future. Some sources believe reconciliation is off the table, while others think it is still a possibility.

“They were ready to throw in the towel. Divorce papers are done and ready to be filed,” a source told The Daily Mail. “But they wanted to give it one last go before walking away from this and are going back to the beginning by writing each other letters. This is what made them fall in love in the first place.”

The couple originally broke off their engagement in 2004 but reunited in 2021, so the idea of reconciling is not entirely out of the question.

If Lopez and Affleck do proceed with a divorce, it will mark the end of her fourth marriage. In 1997, she married Ojani Noa, but their marriage ended after just a year. In 2001, she married backup dancer Cris Judd, and they divorced in 2003.

Lopez’s longest marriage was to singer Marc Anthony. They married in 2004, shortly after her previous relationship with Affleck ended. The couple, who share two children, were together for seven years. They announced their separation in 2011 and finalized their divorce in 2014.

As the public watches closely, it remains to be seen whether Lopez and Affleck will weather this storm or decide to part ways. Regardless, Lopez seems determined to make the best of her summer and focus on her family and friends.
