Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy Leads in New ‘The Boys’ WWII Promo

While many of us are still recuperating from San Diego Comic-Con, the marketing team for The Boys is already back in action. Despite it being a solid two years until the final showdown between the vigilante team and the Supes of Vought Tower, the marketing geniuses are making sure we won’t forget about the show. With Jensen Ackles returning as Soldier Boy for the last season and a new prequel series titled Vought Rising, promotional material is already pouring in.
Fans who followed the coverage of the third season in 2022 will recall the fun promos featuring Soldier Boy in various formats such as PSAs, music videos, and movie trailers. The latest piece of Soldier Boy propaganda comes straight from WWII, showcasing him liberating a Nazi camp filled with Allied forces. In this promo, Soldier Boy talks about capturing seven Nazis and his next plan to take the fight straight to Hitler.
At the end of Season 3, Soldier Boy was presumed dead following a massive fight in Vought Tower, only for it to be revealed that he survived and was placed back in government custody. Soldier Boy stayed frozen during the fourth season of The Boys, but he made a brief cameo in the premiere season of Gen V. The mid-credits scene of the latest season’s finale shocked fans when Homelander, portrayed by Antony Starr, discovered his father (Soldier Boy) is alive. Ackles will be a regular in the upcoming fifth season, indicating that Homelander doesn’t end Soldier Boy after this revelation.
The excitement continues with Vought Rising, where Ackles’ character will share the spotlight with Aya Cash’s Stormfront, introduced in the show’s second season. Unlike Soldier Boy, Cash’s Stormfront didn’t survive, meeting a grisly end by her own hand at the beginning of the third season. The prequel promises to dive into the dark origins of Vought, giving fans a glimpse of the early days of the sinister corporation.
