Jermaine Jenas and Michael McIntyre’s Sketch Has Aged Poorly

Following the news that Jermaine Jenas has been sacked from the BBC, social media users have been revisiting an awkward moment from Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, which aired 18 months ago.

Jenas was abruptly removed from his roles as a presenter on The One Show and Match of the Day over accusations of ‘inappropriate behaviour’. A BBC spokesperson confirmed, “We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting line-up.”

In an interview with talkSPORT News, Jenas expressed his dissatisfaction with the dismissal, stating there are “two sides to every story” and that he would be speaking to his lawyers about the situation.

When asked about reports that he sent unsolicited texts to a female staff member at The One Show, Jenas responded, “Like I said, I’m not happy about this situation. You know, I’m going to be speaking to my lawyers about it is all I can say right now.”

Jenas declined to elaborate on the specifics of the complaint, including whether it involved more than one colleague or when he first became aware of the issue. He also did not comment on when the BBC informed him of his termination.

Since the news broke, people have been sharing a clip from Michael McIntyre’s Big Show that hasn’t aged well. In the segment, Jenas played a game called Send To All, where McIntyre took Jenas’s phone and sent a message to everyone in his contacts list.

McIntyre decided to send a gym selfie of Jenas, showing the former footballer without a shirt on, flexing after a workout. Jenas appeared mortified as McIntyre said, “Everyone you know is going to receive that photo.”

The picture was sent with the caption: “Just scrolling through my selfies and had to share! Perfection?” While Jenas admitted he would be most scared of getting a reply from his mother-in-law, he in fact received a response from a female producer on The One Show.

The woman, named Enya, responded with, “I’m sending this to HR.” Since then, social media has been buzzing with the clip, with one user commenting, “I have no words.”
