Joanna Gaines Displays Her Competitive Side with Viral Dance Skills

Joanna Gaines is not here to play—she’s here to win.

The Fixer Upper star recently hopped on Instagram to showcase her determination to crush a step challenge, and she’s all in.

In a hilarious clip posted on Tuesday, August 27, the camera is set up with a street view and a big building in the background. Suddenly, a flash of blue, presumably Gaines herself, darts across the frame like a woman on a mission. Next thing you know, we’re inside her home, where she’s dancing like nobody’s watching and jogging in place with all the energy of someone who really wants those extra steps.

Set to the catchy beat of Apache Indian’s “Boom Shack-A-Lak,” she captioned the post, “When the clock strikes midnight, one of us will have more steps than the other.” She also added the hashtags #stepchallenge and #KimmieVsJo.

Her followers couldn’t get enough, flooding the comments with encouragement. One fan wrote, “I’m totally here for this content! Let’s goooooo.” Another joked, “Shake a leg, literally.” And the support kept coming with, “Go, Jo, goooooo!!!”

Of course, internet sleuths quickly figured out she’s in Banff, Canada. Fans excitedly commented, “Ahhhh Banff! Welcome to Canada.” Another added, “We’ve been there!!!!!! You’re in Banff!!!!”

But the burning question remains: Did all that effort pay off? One curious commenter asked, “Bahahaha! But who won?!”

While Gaines hasn’t spilled the beans on the step challenge winner just yet, she did recently share another glimpse into her life—this time involving honey harvesting.

Earlier this month, the HGTV queen, 46, posted a sweet recap of her family’s annual honey harvest. Along with her husband Chip, 49, and their two youngest sons, Crew, 6, and Duke, 16, Joanna shared the whole process—from suiting up in beekeeper gear to scraping honey off the comb and jarring the golden goodness. The video is a heartwarming look at the family tradition.

She captioned it, “My favorite day of the year on the farm—Honey harvest day!” and we’re officially obsessed.
