Joe Jonas has announced his sophomore solo album “Music for People Who Believe in Love,” set for release on October 18 via Republic Records.

The singer, who first rose to fame as a member of the Jonas Brothers and later achieved success with his band DNCE, will introduce the album’s first single, “Work It Out,” this Friday. Over the last month, Jonas has been building anticipation for the song by sharing snippets on podcasts and performing it live during the Jonas Brothers’ Calgary Stampede show.

“I am thrilled to share my new solo album with you – Music for People Who Believe in Love,” Jonas expressed in a statement. “This album is a celebration of gratitude, hope, and love. These songs reflect on my life from a bird’s-eye view, acknowledging the many blessings around me.”

Jonas explained that the album draws inspiration from his experiences of fatherhood, friendship, and happiness. “This album is a reflection and celebration of life,” he added. “I hope it brings you as much joy as it brought me creating it. Please enjoy!”

The 34-year-old artist released his debut solo album “Fastlife” in October 2011. That project debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 but then gradually slipped off the chart. Its lead single “See No More” reached No. 92 on the Hot 100.

Outside of his work with the Jonas Brothers, Jonas founded DNCE in 2015. The group released two EPs and a self-titled album in 2016, which debuted at No. 17 on the Hot 100 and produced the hit single “Cake by the Ocean,” that peaked at No. 9 on the Hot 100.

Most recently, Joe reunited with his brothers Nick and Kevin for the release of their album “The Album” last year.

Jonas shared a more extensive statement regarding “Music for People Who Believe in Love”:

“I am thrilled to share my new solo album with you – Music for People Who Believe in Love. This album is a celebration of gratitude, hope, and love. These songs reflect on my life from a bird’s-eye view, acknowledging the many blessings around me,” Jonas reiterated.

“When we take a moment to breathe, pause, and reflect on the positives, my hope is that we can find acceptance and ultimately peace in the present moment. It’s okay to cry and mourn a loss – it’s part of the process to take care of ourselves and eventually enables us to be there for the people we care about.”

Joe elaborated on the themes of the album: “This album speaks to the experiences of being a father, being a friend to oneself and others, and the happiness I’ve found in doing what I love for a living. I feel incredibly fortunate to travel the world and connect with people through my music, as well as having had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented musicians, songwriters, and producers on this project.”

He added a personal anecdote, sharing that a director he once worked with had a handwritten note above his camera during filming that asked, “What do you want them to feel?”. This question continues to resonate with him every time he steps on stage or creates new music. “The ability to perform, connect deeply with an audience, and evoke positive emotions, or even healing, is a gift I cherish,” he said.

“This album is a reflection and celebration of life,” Jonas concluded. “I hope it brings you as much joy as it brought me creating it. Please enjoy!”

With love and gratitude,
Joe
