Joe Nichols Announces 11th Album, ‘Honky Tonks and Country Songs’

Joe Nichols is set to release his 11th studio album, “Honky Tonks and Country Songs,” on October 25th. This announcement follows his 2022 album “Good Day for Living” and his recent high-profile performances with Post Malone, which have generated significant hype for this new release.

“Honky Tonks and Country Songs” was produced by Mickey Jack Cones and Derek George. Nichols, who peaked in popularity in the early to mid-2000s with hits like “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” and “Brokenheartsville,” has consistently delivered quality music throughout his career. Nichols describes the new album as an homage to the honky tonks where he honed his craft before rising to fame in the country music scene.

“I’ve been in a lot of honky tonks. They’re the only places I could play for a long time, and you learn a lot about being an entertainer there, because people come wanting to hear a good song and have a good time. Country songs speak not just to those people, but to all people. My job is to make people feel good. Sometimes that means with fun and happy songs, and other times with sad and sorrowful truths. But the goal is always to make them feel good. This album is meant to do exactly that. Everyone can find a good time in a honky tonk and a country song,” Nichols said.

So far, Nichols has released one song from the album, “Bottle It Up,” and is set to release another track, “Doin’ Life with You,” on Friday, September 6th. The album boasts an 11-song tracklist, including a cover of Hank Williams Jr.’s “Country Boy Can Survive” and a duet with his labelmate Annie Bosko on “Better Than You.”
