Joey Lawrence’s Wife Files for Divorce, Seeks Full Custody of Daughter

Actor Joey Lawrence and his third wife, Samantha Cope, are ending their marriage. According to TMZ, Cope filed for divorce two months ago and is seeking sole physical custody of their 1-year-old daughter, Dylan. Reports indicate that the couple separated in June after two years together.

Cope is not asking for spousal support but is requesting full custody, stipulating that she will determine when Lawrence can see their daughter. After Dylan turns 3, she will be allowed to stay with Lawrence two nights per week, but no extended stays will be permitted. The actor also has two other daughters, Charleston and Liberty, from a previous marriage.

Lawrence and Cope’s relationship began in a very atypical Hollywood fashion. They met on the set of the 2021 Lifetime movie “My Husband’s Secret Brother,” where Lawrence’s character tragically murdered Cope’s character. Reflecting on their unique meeting, Lawrence told People, “I’d never dated somebody that I’d worked with before. That was just very, very much out of the ordinary for me. I was her killer.”

Lawrence first gained fame in the 1990s sitcom “Blossom.” Before marrying Cope, he was married to Michelle Vella from 2002 to 2005 and then to Chandie Yawn-Nelson from 2005 to 2022.
