John Stamos Joins The Beach Boys for Eastern Iowa Show [VIDEO]

The collaboration between John Stamos and The Beach Boys may initially seem unlikely. What is Hollywood heartthrob John Stamos doing with a band that debuted in the late 1950s? Yet, Stamos and The Beach Boys continue to tour together. This week, Stamos will join the band in Eastern Iowa.

The Beach Boys are currently on their ‘Endless Summer Gold 2024’ Tour. They are set to perform at the McGrath Amphitheater in Cedar Rapids on Friday, July 12th. On Monday, the band announced that former Full House star John Stamos will join them. Many may recall seeing Stamos perform with The Beach Boys in the video for their iconic song ‘Kokomo.’

I remember wondering, “Why is Uncle Jesse from Full House playing bongos?” According to a press release, Stamos began his relationship with the legendary band in 1985. His goal was to introduce a younger generation to The Beach Boys’ music. His first show with the band was July 4th, 1985, in front of the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C. This relationship has lasted for almost four decades.

My dad was a big fan of The Beach Boys, and he introduced me to their music as I grew older. Pet Sounds remains one of my favorite albums, as does Endless Summer, the double album celebrated during this summer tour. Filled with the band’s most iconic songs, many of these hits will be performed on Friday night in Cedar Rapids. A limited number of tickets are still available at www.creventslive.com.
