JoJo Siwa’s Hilarious Taylor Swift ‘Karma’ Take Breaks Dislike Record

JoJo Siwa knows how to celebrate, whether it’s a victory or a perceived setback. The vibrant and energetic aspiring pop star recently took to TikTok to acknowledge that she is the top female artist of 2024 with the most disliked video on YouTube. In her post, she also highlighted other prominent female musicians who have received significant thumbs-downs on the platform, including Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift.

The Dance Moms alum mentioned that Ariana Grande’s lead single “Yes, And?” released in January, received 290,000 dislikes. Katy Perry was ahead of Grande, with her song “Woman’s World” garnering 330,000 dislikes. Perry’s video faced criticism partly due to her collaboration with Dr. Luke, who was accused of rape and emotional abuse by singer Kesha in 2014, as well as outdated feminist messages.

In the runner-up position was Taylor Swift’s “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone. This track, which served as the lead single for her latest album The Tortured Poets Department, amassed 350,000 dislikes.

Finally, Siwa announced herself as the frontrunner in this less-than-desirable contest. “Your No. 1 first place overall goes to…,” she exclaimed on camera, “’Karma,’ JoJo Siwa, with an astonishing, record-breaking 3.1 million dislikes!”

“I am the only person that can say I beat Taylor Swift on a list of something,” she added with a grin. “I’ll take it.”

The aspiring pop star captioned her TikTok clip with exuberance: “WHAT A DAY TO CELEBRATE. KARMA BROKE A RECORD. 900% MORE THAN 2ND PLACE. A WIN IS A WIN.”

In the past year, JoJo Siwa has been shedding her youthful image in favor of a more mature persona, moving away from her signature large hair bows. Speaking with E! News, Siwa mentioned that while embracing new things can be intimidating, she is fully committed to her new era.

“The way that I’m able to keep going and keep being like, ‘Wait, actually what I’m doing is right,’” she explained, “is because some of the most respected people in the world have come up to me and said, ‘What you’re doing right now is so right. It is what the world needs, and I’m learning from what you are doing right now.’”

She concluded by noting the profound impact of such support: “Support from people like that means the world to me.”
