Joker 2 Trailer: A Smiling, Intense, and Musical Good Time

The new “Joker: Folie À Deux” trailer has dropped, delivering a musically intense introduction to the captivating Joker and Harley show. Starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, this trailer offers the most extensive glimpse yet of the eagerly awaited DC sequel, and it does not disappoint.

The trailer opens with Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) riding in a police van, suddenly bursting into laughter. This jarring moment sets the dark, intense tone for the rest of the trailer.

Accompanied by the soundtrack “When You’re Smiling,” we see Fleck riding past adoring fans, many of whom are wearing Joker makeup. This sequence highlights the twisted admiration the character commands.

Harley Quinn (Gaga) adds to the drama, saying, “When I first saw Joker, when I saw you, for once in my life, I didn’t feel so alone anymore,” as she mimics a gun with her fingers to her head. This line underscores the deepening connection between the two characters.

The intensity ramps up when Harley smashes a store window to steal a television showcasing Arthur blowing a kiss to onlookers. This act of defiance and rebellion sets the tone for their chaotic love story.

In another sequence, Joker and Quinn share a passionate kiss as a fire rages behind them, juxtaposing love and destruction.

Inside a prison, Fleck is shown singing, “For once in my life, I have someone who needs me,” providing a haunting glimpse into his disturbed psyche.

A police officer questions Fleck, asking, “How about you, Arthur? Do you still think you’re a star?” This moment underscores the ongoing conflict between his delusions of grandeur and reality.

From this point, the trailer shifts to “Showtime,” signaling the chaos to come. Joker and Quinn dance in the moonlight, a courtroom scene unfolds where Joker gestures dramatically, and Quinn kisses Arthur through prison bars.

“You can do anything you want,” Quinn tells him, encapsulating the sense of anarchic possibility that defines their relationship. “You’re Joker,” she adds, reinforcing his warped identity.

The scene shifts to Arthur Fleck’s trial, broadcasted on television. He defiantly declares, “I will no longer allow any of you to keep me down!” This statement fuels the sense of rebellion and upheaval.

The trailer culminates with Joker and Quinn performing on stage, introduced as “The Joker and Harley Show.” Quinn enthusiastically tells the audience, “Let’s give the people what they want,” summarizing their intent to sow chaos.

Explosions, scenes of destruction, and a brutal moment of a man getting hit with a mallet by Joker are interspersed before the trailer concludes with the duo singing about “get happy.”

Fans of the original “Joker” film will be thrilled with this second installment, which promises unexpected twists, high energy, and the chaotic charm of Arthur Fleck and his newfound partner, Harley Quinn.

Don’t miss “Joker: Folie À Deux” when it hits theaters on October 4th.
