Jordin Sparks served up some major sneaker moments during her time in New York yesterday. The “American Idol” winner had a full day packed with performances and she did it all while rocking Air Jordan sneakers. Her first pit stop was at Fox Studios, followed by an electrifying “No Restrictions Live & Intimate” show at The Gramercy Theatre.
A beloved sneaker choice, the “No Air” singer sported a pair of Air Jordan sneakers in a white and light gray colorway. These classic kicks featured a chunky composition with white lace-up closures and Nike’s iconic Jumpman logo prominently displayed, making them instantly recognizable.
Contrasting her stylish Jordan sneakers, Sparks donned a black loose-fitting maxi dress, featuring exaggerated billowed short sleeves with leather detailing and a pocket with zipper hardware on the side. This casual yet chic ensemble was ideal for navigating around NYC before heading to her performance at The Gramercy Theatre.
Later that day, Sparks switched up her look and sneakers, opting for mismatched Jordan kicks for her show. She wore the Air Jordan 1 Gold Top 3, which were released in limited quantities by Union Los Angeles during ComplexCon in 2017. The left shoe was black and white, while the right shoe was black and metallic gold. Mismatched footwear is a popular styling choice in the sneaker world and among specific creative personalities, including Sarah Jessica Parker.
With her mismatched shoes, Sparks paired baggy black high-waisted cargo pants with a form-fitted long-sleeve cheetah-printed turtleneck top.
This stage look marks a bit of a departure for the singer, who usually wears neutral, metallic, or vibrantly colored pumps, peep-toe shoes, and platform heels from various brands, including Giuseppe Zanotti and Christian Louboutin.
The “American Idol” winner notably wore a set of Louboutin’s green cork-heeled platform sandals throughout her music video for “One Step At A Time.” When off-duty, Sparks frequently wears colorful Reebok and Nike sneakers.
Nike introduced its Jumpman logo in 1987 and trademarked it in 1989. Since then, the logo has been featured on every Jordan style the brand has released. The Air Jordan line, first crafted by Nike in April 1985, predates the Jumpman logo. Over the years, the Air Jordan sneakers have evolved to include a diverse array of colorways and prints.
These sneakers have become a go-to choice for many, including A-listers like Ben Affleck and Jason Sudeikis.
