Juice Wrld’s ‘Lucid Dreams’ Video Reaches 1 Billion Views

Juice Wrld’s breakout single “Lucid Dreams” has achieved a significant milestone on YouTube, surpassing 1 billion views.

Juice Wrld’s music continues to resonate with fans even after his untimely passing. Recently, the psychedelic music video for his 2018 hit “Lucid Dreams,” directed by Cole Bennett, crossed the 1 billion views mark on YouTube, joining an exclusive group of rap songs that have reached this milestone. This accolade places Juice Wrld among other notable artists such as Wiz Khalifa with “See You Again,” Drake with “God’s Plan,” Post Malone and Swae Lee with “Sunflower,” Lil Nas X with “Old Town Road,” and 50 Cent with “In Da Club.”

“Lucid Dreams” was initially released on SoundCloud in 2017, followed by an official single release in May 2018. The song, produced by Nick Mira, debuted at No. 74 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, eventually peaking at No. 2. By 2022, “Lucid Dreams” had achieved diamond status. The music video, released a week after the song, features various surreal scenes, including a memorable shot of Juice Wrld’s head emerging from a hole.

In 2019, two months before Juice Wrld’s tragic death from an accidental drug overdose, the rock band Yellowcard filed a $15 million lawsuit against him, alleging that he copied their 2006 track “Holly Wood Died.” Despite Juice Wrld’s passing in December 2019, the band initially intended to continue with the lawsuit. However, they ultimately decided to withdraw the suit.

The melancholic track, which incorporates elements of Sting’s 1993 hit “Shape of My Heart,” served as an introduction to Juice Wrld for many fans. It remains one of his most cherished songs, continuing to evoke deep emotions and connection among listeners.
