Juice Wrld’s ‘Lucid Dreams’ Video Reaches 1 Billion Views

The video for Juice Wrld’s breakout single “Lucid Dreams” has achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing 1 billion views on YouTube.

Juice Wrld’s legacy continues to shine through his music. On Wednesday, August 7, the Cole Bennett-directed visual for the 2018 hit “Lucid Dreams” reached an impressive 1 billion views.

This accomplishment places Juice Wrld among an elite group of rappers whose music videos have attained 1 billion streams. This list includes notable names like Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again,” Drake’s “God’s Plan,” Post Malone and Swae Lee’s “Sunflower,” Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” and 50 Cent’s “In Da Club,” among others.

Juice Wrld initially released “Lucid Dreams” on SoundCloud in 2017, before officially dropping it as a single in May 2018. The track, produced by Nick Mira, debuted at No. 74 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, eventually peaking at No. 2 and achieving diamond status in 2022. The music video, released a week after the song, features surreal scenes, including the rapper’s head emerging from a hole.

In 2019, just two months before Juice Wrld’s tragic death from an accidental drug overdose, the rock band Yellowcard sued him for $15 million, claiming he copied their 2006 song “Holly Wood Died.” Despite Juice Wrld’s passing, the group initially decided to proceed with the lawsuit. However, they later had a change of heart and dropped the suit.

The introspective track, which also samples Sting’s 1993 song “Shape of My Heart,” served as an introduction to many fans, and remains one of Juice Wrld’s most beloved ballads.

Juice Wrld’s influence continues to resonate, as evidenced by the continued popularity of “Lucid Dreams.” You can watch the video below.
