Julia Fox Cast in LGBTQ Romantic Drama ‘Perfect’

Julia Fox, who captured attention in the Safdie Brothers’ intense thriller “Uncut Gems,” has joined the cast of the upcoming romantic drama “Perfect.”

She will star alongside Ashley Moore, known for “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” and newcomer Micaela Wittman. The film is directed by Millicent Hailes, who makes her feature debut after helming music videos for artists such as Pussy Riot, Billie Eilish, and Mia Khalifa. Production is set to begin next month.

“Perfect” is set in a picturesque yet dilapidated lakeside resort in the California mountains during an era where climate change has contaminated the water supply. Fox will portray a wealthy pregnant woman engaged in an escapist fantasy as she falls in love with a younger woman, played by Moore. Their budding romance faces challenges from the impending birth, social upheaval, and conflicting values about the future.

Micaela Wittman will play a local townsperson who helps Moore’s character navigate the complexities of her turbulent relationship with Fox’s character. Lio Mehiel and Debi Mazar are in talks to join the cast as well.

The film’s production team includes Nathan Scherrer and Tara Sheree of Freenjoy Productions, known for “Jennifer Lopez – This Is Me… Now: The Love Story.” They will be joined by Douglas Riggs and Tyler Payne of Steak and Rosé, and Liz Cardenas, who produced “A Ghost Story.”

Fox is also slated to appear in Steven Soderbergh’s ghost drama “Presence,” co-starring Lucy Liu, and Monkeypaw’s sports horror thriller “Him,” produced by Jordan Peele. She is represented by Framework Entertainment, Envisionary Management, WME, The Initiative Group, and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham.
