Julianne Moore Shines in Bottega Veneta, Tilda Swinton Stuns in Chanel at Venice

Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton were among the latest stars to grace the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival on Monday. The two Oscar-winning actresses attended the premiere of Pedro Almodóvar’s latest film “The Room Next Door,” in which both Moore and Swinton star.

Both actresses showcased their unique styles for the red carpet event. Moore dazzled in a glittering gold dress designed by Bottega Veneta. The long-sleeve maxidress featured a slim silhouette with a V neckline, complemented by bold gold statement earrings and platform heels to finish off the look.

For her part, Swinton drew inspiration from the runway, donning a piece from the Chanel spring 2024 couture collection. The outfit, which debuted during Paris Couture Week last January, featured a delicate gray hue with textural elements. Swinton’s ensemble included a slightly oversized jacket with opaque buttons, layered with tulle at the cuffs and hem. She paired the jacket with tapered trousers ending above the ankle and matching gray pointed-toe pumps.

In an interview, Swinton discussed the making of “The Room Next Door,” her collaboration with the venerated filmmaker Almodóvar, and her relationship with Moore. “We’d said that we were drawn to find time to do something together and we couldn’t have dreamed of anything more fulfilling than this,” Swinton shared.

Swinton continued, “The film explores the landscape of old friendship. Julianne and I may not be long-time friends, but we became close immediately. We’re around the same age, so we share a frame of reference that made it very easy to imagine having been friends for 30 years.”

The Venice Film Festival is an annual event held in Venice that previews new films from around the world. The festival aims to promote cinema in all its forms and to foster dialogue among filmmakers and audiences. It is a key event in the global film calendar.
