Justin Timberlake’s DWI Report Reveals Failed Sobriety Tests

Justin Timberlake’s arrest report reveals new details surrounding his recent DWI case. According to documents obtained by DailyMail.com, the singer failed multiple field sobriety tests, including the walk-and-turn and one-leg stand tests, after being pulled over in Sag Harbor, New York, on June 18.

The report indicates that Timberlake refused a breathalyzer test.

Notes from rookie police officer Michael Arkinson describe Justin’s “unsteady” demeanor. Arkinson wrote, “Bloodshot and glassy eyes. Odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from breath, inability to divide attention, unsteady afoot.” Justin reportedly told him, “I had one martini and followed my friends home.”

During the walk-and-turn and one-leg stand tests, Timberlake was “very unbalanced” and “unable to follow instructions correctly,” according to Arkinson. While looking for his registration, Justin was said to be “unable to focus on speaking.”

DailyMail.com also mentioned that Officer Arkinson took inventory of Justin’s possessions at the time of his arrest, which included a Rolex watch, a vape pen, a gold ring, and a wallet containing three $100 bills, a $5 bill, and a $1 bill.

Following his arrest, Justin continued to refuse the breathalyzer test, stating, “No, I’m not doing a chemical test.”

On Friday, Justice Carl Irace suspended Timberlake’s license due to his refusal to take the breathalyzer. While it’s unclear how long his license will be suspended, in New York, such a refusal can result in up to a year’s suspension.

Timberlake attended the court hearing remotely from Belgium, where he is performing on his worldwide Everything I Thought It Was tour. He pleaded not guilty to the charges for the second time.

Following the hearing, Justin’s lawyer Ed Burke commented, “This is standard procedure with every DWI case. In New York, the suspension stays during the pendency of the case and is resolved at the end. Other states have similar regulations.”

At a prior court hearing, Burke argued that the case should be dismissed due to a procedurally “defective” criminal complaint filed by the police. Burke insisted outside the court that Justin “was not intoxicated” and that the police made a mistake.

Burke told The New York Daily News, “The most important thing we have to say today is that Justin should not have been arrested for driving while intoxicated,” adding that authorities made “a number of very significant errors.”

He further stated, “Sometimes the police, just like every one of us, make mistakes, and that is the case in this very incident.”

This week, Burke was reprimanded by Irace for his comments. Irace described the remarks as “irresponsible” and said they “come off as an attempt to poison the case,” warning that a gag order might be put in place if Burke continues to criticize the court system.

The next hearing is set for August 9, which will be a conference between the defense attorney and prosecutors. A tentative date has been scheduled for September 13 for Timberlake’s court appearance in Sag Harbor.
