KARA Releases New Song Featuring All Six Members

July 16 (UPI) — The K-pop girl group KARA is set to release a new song featuring the voices of all six members, including the late Goo Ha-ra, on Tuesday, according to the group’s agencies, RBW and DSP Media.

“Hello,” a track from KARA’s new digital single “I Do I Do,” which is set for release next Thursday, will be pre-released at 6 p.m. The song is a ballad focused around the word “Hello” used as a greeting.

Originally, “Hello” was meant to be part of KARA’s fourth full-length album, Full Bloom, which debuted in September 2013. It was ultimately left out but later reworked into a Japanese version that appeared on Goo Ha-ra’s Japanese single “Midnight Queen” in November 2019.

The song has recently been completed as a full-group version, incorporating Goo Ha-ra’s voice recorded in Korean while she was still alive.

Since their debut in 2007, KARA has been recognized as one of the top second-generation K-pop girl groups, standing alongside acts like Girls’ Generation. They delivered hit songs such as “Pretty Girl,” “Mister,” “Honey,” and “Lupin.” The group’s popularity skyrocketed in Japan, especially after the song “Mister” became a major hit there.

Although KARA effectively disbanded in January 2016, they reunited in October 2022 with the remaining five members. This reunion saw the release of “Move Again,” a special album to commemorate their 15th anniversary.
