Karol G’s ‘Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido’ Debuts at No. 2 on Hot Latin Songs
Karol G achieves her 27th top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart as “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” debuts at No. 2 on the July 6-dated list. The song, released on June 21 via Bichota/Interscope/ICLG, reaches this position three months after “Contigo,” featuring Tiesto, spent four weeks in the top 10.
“Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” starts at No. 2 with high activity across all metrics integrated into Hot Latin Songs, which includes airplay, streams, and sales. During the tracking week of July 21-27, the song amassed 11.9 million official U.S. streams, according to Luminate. This impressive sum propels the song to No. 33 on the overall Streaming Songs chart and No. 2 on Latin Streaming Songs.
As for the other metrics contributing to Hot Latin Songs, “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” sold 2,000 downloads within the same period, topping Latin Digital Song Sales for a second consecutive week. Additionally, the song starts at No. 29 on the overall Latin Airplay chart, garnering 4.1 million audience impressions.
With “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” entering at No. 2, Karol G secures her 27th top 10 hit and her 10th unaccompanied by another artist. Her first solo top 10 was the No. 5-peaking “Ay, Dios Mío” in 2020. Out of her 27 top 10s, eight have reached No. 1, with her latest chart-topper being “Qlona,” featuring Peso Pluma, which led for five weeks in 2023.
Interestingly, Karol G and Gloria Estefan are the only two women to debut in the top two on Hot Latin Songs with solo tracks. Karol G has debuted in the top two with three solo songs: “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” “Mi Ex Tenía Razón,” and “Provenza.” Gloria Estefan achieved this feat with “Hotel Nacional” in 2012.
In addition to her No. 2 debut on Hot Latin Songs, the merengue-based track “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” propels Karol G back into the top 10 on Tropical Airplay after nearly eight years. The song jumps from 18 to 3 in its third week on the chart. Her previous top 10 on Tropical Airplay was “Casi Nada” in 2016.
Furthermore, “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” marks Karol G’s 31st career entry on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, debuting at No. 34.
