Kate Hudson Wore Slip-On Sneakers – Shop Superga and Sorel Shoes

Remember that scene in Raising Helen where Kate Hudson’s character tries to teach Abigail Breslin’s character how to tie her shoes? Well, if the movie were written in 2024, it would have looked very different.

On July 17, 45-year-old Hudson strolled through New York City in none other than a pair of slip-on sneakers. The white shoes were open at the back for easy access and the cushy, thick soles looked extra plush when contrasted with the Concrete Jungle’s rugged sidewalks and streets. Though white sneakers go with everything, she chose to style hers with a matching graphic T-shirt, some white pants, and a straw hat.

Martha Stewart is also a supporter of fuss-free sneaker styles. She recently told PEOPLE that slip-ins, which are basically the same as slip-ons, are “absolutely essential.” Similarly, Jennifer Lopez wore a pair of slip-on Allbirds sneakers earlier this year. Hers had laces on them, but it’s clear that celebrities are a fan of the quick, easy, and comfortable slip-on style.

Some slip-on sneakers are backless, like these from Naturalizer. Since they’re structured like a slipper, you don’t have to bend over to tie them. They do have laces, but they are more there for fashion, rather than function. The brown sole won’t need to be cleaned as often as white-bottomed pairs, and they have a little platform to give you some extra height, too.

Skechers and Martha Stewart collaborated to create these sneakers, which come in three colors and sizes 5 to 11. The back is closed off for more stability and less slippage, and they have memory foam cushioning for those who want a little extra support. “These shoes actually do slip on easily unlike some other ‘slip-ons,’” said one customer. “Favorite shoes…no contest!”

While searching, we also found two of Oprah’s “favorite” brands. Dearfoams slippers once made it onto the media mogul’s Favorite Things List, and slip-on sneakers like this all-white pair feel like they’re on a similar wavelength.

Sorel shoes, which Katie Holmes and Sydney Sweeney have worn, are also Oprah-approved. This bold, chunky style has an uneven sole and tortoise-like details that look like a pair Jennifer Aniston wore.

Slipping on and slipping up are two different things. Don’t let it be the latter. Keep scrolling to shop more slip-on sneakers inspired by Kate Hudson now.
