Kate Middleton Dons Feathered Hat and Trench for Scottish Church Outing

Kate Middleton embraced the autumn season in style as she made a rare public appearance with Prince William and Prince George. The trio attended church services near Balmoral Castle in Scotland, and Kate’s outfit was a perfect nod to fall.

Middleton, 42, who is currently taking a break from royal duties to recuperate from cancer treatment, opted for an ensemble she had previously worn. The Princess of Wales donned a tan Holland Cooper trench coat priced at $1,120, paired with a feather-trimmed Hicks & Brown fedora, available for $155.

The 100% wool trench coat featured elegant gold buttons and a matching belt. This isn’t the first time the royal has sported this design; she also has a purple tartan version, evident from her appearance at Crathie Kirk church back in 2023. The stylish coat is clearly a staple in her wardrobe and appears in different variations.

This time, Kate opted for a more relaxed hairstyle, letting her hair flow naturally, unlike her more formal updo from the previous year. She complemented her look with dangling statement earrings as she rode in a Land Rover Defender with Prince William and their 11-year-old son, Prince George.

The Holland Cooper trench in green-and-purple plaid has also made appearances in Kate’s wardrobe, notably during a 2021 screening of “Cruella” at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. The trench seems to be a favored choice for the Princess, adding a touch of sophistication to her well-curated looks.

Kate’s hat choice for the church service also carried a sense of familiarity. The British-made Hicks & Brown fedora has been a recurring accessory, previously worn in a blue version during a service on the Sandringham estate in January 2020. An olive-colored version of the same hat was featured in a video marking the Waleses’ 10th wedding anniversary in 2021.

The Princess has been strategically stepping back from the public eye to focus on her health. Her last public appearance was at the Wimbledon men’s finals in July, where she exuded elegance in a bright purple Safiyaa midi dress. More recently, she made an appearance in a Paris Olympics video sporting a new ring, adding to her collection of memorable public outings.
