Princess Kate Middleton made a rare public appearance with her husband, Prince William, and son, Prince George, amid her ongoing cancer battle on Sunday (August 25).

The royal family was seen attending Crathie Kirk church on the Balmoral Estate in Scotland, as captured in photos obtained by the Daily Mail. The couple’s two youngest children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, were not present at the event.

Earlier this month, Prince William and Princess Kate also appeared in a video to congratulate Great Britain’s Olympic athletes following the conclusion of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB,” Middleton expressed in the clip, which was shared on the royal couple’s joint social media accounts and featured several other celebrities.

“Well done on all you’ve achieved. You’ve been an inspiration to us all,” added Prince William, who appeared sporting a beard.

Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis after undergoing a “planned abdominal surgery” in January, addressing the growing speculation about her whereabouts in the following weeks. This announcement came two months after King Charles, 75, revealed his own diagnosis of an undisclosed form of cancer in February.

Despite the difficult situation, Middleton shared that she was “making good progress” but experienced “good days and bad days.” This update on her chemotherapy was shared in a letter following her initial diagnosis announcement.

The princess made a public appearance at the Wimbledon tournament in London last month. According to prominent royal author Robert Jobson, this event is reportedly expected to be her last public outing for the foreseeable future.
