Katie Holmes Beams with Dave Matthews and Carter Beauford at NYC Concert

Katie Holmes let her hair down as she enjoyed a lively night out in New Jersey. The 45-year-old Dawson’s Creek star attended the Dave Matthews Band concert at Northwell Jones Beach Theater in New York State on Tuesday night.

Taking to Instagram, Katie shared two black and white photos from the concert, featuring a snap of her ticket and a photo with Dave Matthews, 57, and drummer Carter Beauford, 65. She captioned the post: “Thank you @davematthewsband for an AMAZING night!”

In the pictures, the Alone Together director wore a casual ensemble consisting of a flowy white t-shirt and patchwork pants. It’s clear she wanted to relax and enjoy the evening.

Fans went wild in the comments section, making connections between Dave Matthews Band (DMB) and the Dawson’s Creek series. One fan noted the band’s song “Lover Lay Down,” which appeared in the show’s second season episode, High Risk Behavior. Another fan commented on the 90s nostalgia, while others reminisced about their college days.

One enthusiastic fan shared that seeing Dave Matthews Band live was on their “bucket list,” to which Katie responded, describing the concert as “so incredible!” She even revealed her favorite DMB song: “Crash.”

Though Katie had seats for the show, she opted to leave them and join other fans in the pit to dance. According to eyewitnesses, she was alone but appeared to be thoroughly enjoying herself, mingling freely without being bothered by others.

In another fun twist, fans noticed that Katie’s patchwork pants bore a striking resemblance to the pants worn by the band’s saxophonist, Jeff Coffin, on the same night. The fashion coincidence did not go unnoticed.

The night out comes as her daughter, Suri Noelle, 18, prepares for a significant life change. Suri is set to leave for college at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, after graduating from LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. This high school was famously the inspiration for the movie Fame.

Having grown up in New York City, Suri is well-equipped to navigate Pittsburgh. Katie reflected on their life in the city, saying, “The city has a lot to offer, and I use it. Yes, it’s a little too exposed at times, and we work hard to maneuver and navigate. But what I love about New York is that for me and my child, this is our vibe.”

Katie’s night out at the concert provided a joyful moment amidst the transitions happening in her and Suri’s life. It served as a reminder that while change is inevitable, making time to enjoy life’s simple pleasures remains essential.
