Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have been praising each other since they first got together over eight years ago. Recently, Perry got candid during an Instagram Live chat with fans, celebrating her new single, “Woman’s World.” She opened up about one of the reasons their relationship has lasted so long.

Perry read a playful fan question about Bloom’s “magic stick” and, although initially thrown by the intimate nature of the question, responded cheerfully. “Well, we’ve been together for a while,” she said, while multitasking and signing promotional items. Later, she humorously concluded with, “I guess he’s got the magic in him,” singing part of B.o.B.’s 2010 hit “Magic.”

On a more heartfelt note, Perry praised Bloom’s heart and expressed gratitude for their four-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove. “No, it’s really his heart,” she clarified. “And he gave me my greatest gift ever… Daisy Dove,” she added warmly.

Over the weekend, Perry addressed criticism surrounding the “Woman’s World” video. Through behind-the-scenes clips shared on Instagram, she explained her intentions, combining feminist themes with cheeky visuals. “YOU CAN DO ANYTHING! EVEN SATIRE!” she emphasized in her post.

The song faced backlash for various reasons, including its perceived failure as a feminist anthem and Perry’s collaboration with co-producer Dr. Luke. Dr. Luke had previously been accused of sexual misconduct by Kesha, with their lengthy legal battle settling in 2023 before going to trial. Some fans felt “Woman’s World” didn’t resonate as Perry intended.

In the first half of the video, Perry preemptively addressed potential backlash, explaining the satire and slapstick nature of the visuals. “We’re kind of just having fun being a bit sarcastic with it, it’s very slapstick, and very on the nose,” she said. Perry added that the theme was about overplaying the male gaze to an exaggerated extent, describing it as a “reset” for her concept of the feminine divine.

“Woman’s World” is the lead single from Perry’s upcoming album, “143,” set to follow her 2020 album “Smile.” The new album is scheduled for release on September 20.
