Katy Perry Shares Delivery Room Video After Daughter Daisy’s Birth

Katy Perry is reflecting on a particularly memorable day!

On Thursday, August 29, the singer, now 39, shared a poignant video on her Instagram Stories. The video featured Perry sitting in a hospital bed shortly after giving birth to her daughter, Daisy Dove, who is now four years old. This momentous event took place in August 2020.

In the clip, despite looking exhausted, Perry exhibits a sense of contentment. Someone off-camera asks, “What day is it?” She pauses, takes a bite of her food, and replies with a smile, “It’s the day after I gave birth to Daisy Dove Bloom, and it’s the day my fifth record comes out.”

Ahead of posting this sentimental throwback clip, Perry marked the anniversary of her album release on her Instagram Stories as well. “Happy 4th birthday to my album Smile,” she wrote on Thursday, August 29, in capital letters.

She accompanied this post with a snapshot of the album’s cover art and added, “Where were you when this album came out? I’ll show you where I was.” This statement led up to her sharing the throwback video of herself in the delivery room, fresh from welcoming Daisy into the world the previous day.

Earlier this month, Perry also shared another heartwarming glimpse into her life as a mom through TikTok. The video featured her daughter Daisy helping her out by signing autographs.

“The smallest member of Team KP insisted on lending a hand (and a Sharpie) 🌼✍🏼 maybe you’ll get a DD 143 exclusive, lucky you 🥹,” Perry captioned the video. This statement appears to be a nod to her upcoming seventh studio album, titled 143.

In the TikTok video, the faces of both Perry and Daisy are hidden from the camera. Instead, viewers can see only their arms actively engaged in signing promo photos for Perry’s new album era, 143.
