Katy Perry has just released her newest single, “Woman’s World,” which marks her first release since her fifth studio album Smile in 2020. The music video is set to drop tomorrow, generating even more excitement among fans. This empowering anthem celebrates the incredible strength and influence of women, a theme that resonates deeply with Perry’s audience.

Leading up to the release, Perry, known for her bold and creative promotional tactics, teased the lyrics in various ways. At Paris Fashion Week, she donned a striking red dress with the lyrics of “Woman’s World” inscribed on the train. The dress caught attention as she attended events at Paris’ Vendôme.

The powerful lyrics include lines like, “She’s a winner, champion/ Superhuman, number one/ She’s a sister, she’s a mother. Open your eyes, just look around and you’ll discover/ You know/ It’s a woman’s world and you’re lucky to be living in it.” Perry also shared a sneak peek on Instagram, singing part of the lyrics and channeling her inner Rosie the Riveter, a symbol of female empowerment from World War II.

To celebrate the release of “Woman’s World,” let’s take a look back at some of Katy Perry’s biggest hits that have solidified her place in the music industry.

“Teenage Dream” (2010): This chart-topping single, which was the second release from the album of the same name, became an anthem for young love. Perry described the song as capturing the irreplaceable feeling of first love that is hard to replicate later in life.

“Hot N Cold” (2008): Released as the second single from her One of the Boys album, this track peaked at number three and earned Perry a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

“Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)” (2011): This song became Perry’s fifth consecutive number one single from the Teenage Dream album, setting a record for the most number one songs from a single album by a female artist in Billboard history.

“Firework” (2010): Another hit from Teenage Dream, “Firework” inspired many with its message of self-empowerment, and Perry revealed that the idea for the song came from a Jack Kerouac novel.

“California Gurls” (2010): Featuring Snoop Dogg, this summer anthem topped the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks and was a response to Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ New York tribute, “Empire State of Mind.”

“Wide Awake” (2012): This introspective song was inspired by Perry’s divorce from Russell Brand and was included in her 2012 album Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.

“I Kissed a Girl” (2008): This breakout hit from her debut album One of the Boys stayed at number one for seven weeks and earned Perry her first Grammy nomination.

“The One That Got Away” (2010): This poignant track reflects on lost love and reached number three on the charts, staying on the Hot 100 for 24 weeks. Perry once hinted that the song was about singer Josh Groban during a game with James Corden.

“Dark Horse” (2013): This song came from her fourth studio album, PRISM, and quickly became a number one hit after being released as a promotional single.

“Roar” (2013): As the lead single off of PRISM, “Roar” served as an anthemic message of self-empowerment, aligning perfectly with Perry’s style and message.
